Nagesh Ghodke
Nagesh Ghodke was born in 1984. He received his Bachelor’s in Drawing and Painting from Raheja School of Art in Mumbai. He is popular for his village scenes and finds his muse in ever-changing nature. His geographical and cultural upbringing has largely inspired his work. Having grown up in a village, he uses his work as a medium to depict the beauty and aesthetics of a rural scene, but at the same time, utilises his work to bring to light the destruction of nature and the resulting plight of villagers. His works are abstract, and the most prominent medium used is acrylic. His colour palette consists of greens, blues and reds, with each colour setting a mood in his paintings. Nagesh’s village scenes are very unique, and his style of applying colours to each of his works makes him iconic in his field. The artist has held numerous group shows and has won numerous awards in recognition of his work. He has also been associated with various art camps and workshops.
