Vinay Sharma’s art is reflective of his exposure since childhood to the festivities and colors of Rajasthan, and the rituals and astrology that his father and grandfather practiced. The multi-layered images that he creates using a variety of symbols, mediums, and material, collected from his family archives, combine his ancestors’ work with his own. The spectacular imagery includes a series depicting different zodiac signs and works incorporating antique iconic symbols. His earlier repertoire focused on printmaking, though his interest is now veering towards painting and experimenting with mixed media art in creating imagery and installations that link the past with the present.
